Krishna Das, Bhakti Yogi

In an interview shot in YogaVille, VA, in the spring of 2007, Krishna Das revealed his background and his devotion. He was kind, extremely humble, and quite funny at times.

If you’ve never heard Krishna Das chant, you’re missing out. He is pretty much accepted as the King of Kirtan. While the motivation behind his public practice is not for fame, the grace of his Guru has blessed him with many loyal fans and admirers.

My favorite thing about “KD” (as people inevitably refer to him) is his tireless humanity. He survived, which according to him was a miracle. Now he dedicates his time to his practice: sometimes publicly, sometimes alone at the foot of the Himalayas, always in honor of and praise to his Guru.

For a brief biography of Krishna Das, you can read about him on Wikipedia. You can follow his tour and find other information on his website: KrishnaDas.com. Return to Walking the Path.
